Mindset

According to a new study in Frontiers in Psychology, the simple act of telling yourself that you are capable of crushing a challenge can help you do so. “Emotions influence performance by giving us energy, which helps in everything from running a race to a job interview,” says the study’s lead author.

The lesson here is that positive self-talk

is powerful. You’ve put the time into technique work, developing your engine, mobility, etc., tell yourself “I GOT THIS!” when faced with a challenge.
