Class Cancellations on Friday Afternoon
As many of you know, my younger brother, Neil, was killed in a car accident early Monday morning. He was a big part of CrossFit Vero Beach and was one of our first coaches when we opened. Although he lived in Melbourne the past few years, he was still involved with the gym and participated in all of our events. Many of you became good friends with him and were lucky enough to get to know how warm, funny, passionate, kind and selfless he was.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 3 PM at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home. Therefore, we will be cancelling afternoon classes, as all of our coaches knew and loved Neil and will be attending.
We are still holding the Vero Beast Partner Throwdown on Saturday…thanks for your understanding and all of the support we have received. We truly feel the love and it’s helping us through this unimaginable situation.

Neil was my “boyfriend” as we called it and he called me his “girlfriend”. It was always our running for joke bc I’m obviously super gay. But that’s just how it was for us and I loved Neil so so much. I am so sorry I cannot be there Friday due to a wedding that I am in but please know that I am there with you. All my love and I know that I will see my boyfriend again one day.
It was easy to love Neil because he always had that great smile! Just the nicest guy ever. He will be missed so much. I am so sorry for your loss Wendy and Rob. Just know that you are covered in prayer by so many.
Neil was one of the sweetest people I knew. Back in the day when I had a blog, he was one of my biggest supporters. So much that one time when I didn’t post for four days in a row, he called me to make sure I was okay! He will surely be missed!
Matt and I have so many wonderful memories of Neil. He was selfless, kind, and had a great sense of humor. We will miss him dearly. Our hearts go out to Wendy, Rob and family. ❤️
