Self-Talk

Do you ever look at the workout of the day

and think “I can’t do that.” If you miss a lift, does it result in head-shaking and doubt about your abilities? Do you ever let a not-so-stellar session in the gym negatively impact your day?

Your mental state and physical performance are intertwined. So, harness the power of positive thinking.

  • Instead of thinking about the workout as a whole, focus on the reps/movement at hand. Before you know it…task completed.
  • Instead of focusing on the weight on the bar, visualize the technique you’ve worked so hard on.
  • HAVE FUN! (it’s just a workout)
  • Enjoy the challenges each day brings, learn from mistakes and remember how far you’ve come!
