Fight Gone Bad Recap
Thank you everyone who came out to support FGB6! A great time was had by 150-plus athletes, friends and family of CrossFit Vero Beach, Treasure Coast CrossFit and CrossFit Fort Pierce.
Most importantly, we've raised $5,196 for the cause. I know that checks are still rolling in, so that total should be about $6,000 when all is said and done. At this posting, we ranked 104 out of 1078 affiliates who registered for the event. Not too shabby for the little box from Vero Beach!
Our top fundraiser, for the second year in a row, was Rachelle Dermody (Lil Rach), who raised $1285. Suzie Sunkel was second with $675. Great job, ladies!
For those of you who raised the minimum $150 to earn a shirt, those ship in a few months. If you are short of that goal, you have until the 26th to get enough money in.
A total of seventy-one athletes performed the workout. We had some amazing performances…
- In the scaled division, Diane Blais won with a score of 277. Right on her heels was Jen Budde with a score of 261.
- For the women's Rx, Games competitor and CrossFit Fort Pierce athlete Cheryl Nasso broke the 400 barrier with a score of 403. CFVB's Rachel Reichert tallied an impressive 391.
- Tearing up the Men's Rx division was our very own Jesse Davis with a beastly score of 413. Trailing behind him in second place was Dan (the man) Clemente with 394.
The post-WOD party didn't disappoint. Tiney, Big Tay, Jessie and Kristi PR'ed the dance floor and taught the other boxes some new moves. Our DJ was amazing – a HUGE thanks goes out to Ron of Infinite Entertainment. Check them out for your next event – www.DJandDanceProductions.com
I'd also like to thank Lil Rach for bringing fruit and John Young for supplying an array of homemade gator jerky. Tara, Kristi, Rach, El, Diane, Jessie P, Charlie, Tanner, Karl and Chase - thanks for being scorekeepers, timers, photographers, demo boys, equiptment setter-uppers, cleaners, etc. It was a group effort!
Check out the CrossFit Vero Beach FaceBook page for all the photos. Can't wait until next year!
