The Open – Important Information

It’s finally here! The 2014 CrossFit Open is kicking off this week. Read on for important information:

  • If you plan on participating, you MUST register now at the CrossFit Games website: games.crosssfit.com
  • On Thursday evening at 8 PM Eastern, Event 1 will be announced on the Games website and demoed by CrossFit Games athletes. Tune in!
  • As a registered athlete, you MUST watch the standards videos and be familiar with the movements to be performed. Don’t come in and ask “what’s the WOD?” We will review the movement standards, but we expect you to be ready.
  • We will be performing the Open workout at our gym on Saturday. The 6 AM and 9 AM classes will be designated as competition classes. Everyone registered will be judged.
  • When you come to class on Saturday, we will be assigning heats by writing your name on the board. Be ready to go when your heat is called.
  • You may also be asked to judge one of your fellow CrossFitters, so please be willing to lend a hand if needed.
  • If you cannot make Saturday, you MUST send an email to [email protected] in order to schedule a make-up session. We have some people being judged Friday afternoon, so if you need to come at that time, please send us an email.
  • After the workout, you will receive a copy of your scorecard. You MUST submit  your score by 8 PM Eastern on the following Monday so that we can verify it. If you miss this deadline, you will miss that score for that week and you won’t receive a ranking on the Games site.

5 snatch 95/75
400 m run @ 85% effort
– rest 90 seconds between sets

Rest 3 minutes

4 sets, each for time and meters of –
5 clean & jerk 135/95
90 second row @ 85% effort
– rest 90 seconds between sets
